The Denver Broncos gave the San Diego Chargers the greatest gift a team could ask for. A playoff spot.  It has been well documented in the last few weeks about the Broncos three-game lead and their failure to win at least one of them to lock up the division and get in to the playoffs.  The Chargers were virtually playing for pride when they set out after notching a record of 4-8.  They kept winning and the Broncos kept losing.  The AFC west title was neatly gift wrapped for the bolts.  How did San Diego thank them?  By beating the red-hot Indianapolis Colts led by league MVP  Peyton Manning.  Now all of the sudden this 8-8 football has a chance to get into the AFC championship.  Are you kidding?  A 500 record team has a ligitemate shot to win the Superbowl!  What a gift indeed by the Broncs.

An era has ended in Denver.  The firing of Head Coach Mike Shannahan took many by surprise, but some  saw this one coming.  Could it have been the lack of post-season play for the past three years?  Possibly, but most  think the last straw was giving up a three-game division lead with three games left that finally ended Shannan's blue and orange days.  Say what you will about the man, but what he did for Denver was amazing.  Other than Mr. Elway, his name is probably going to be the most mentioned name in Bronco history.

The Denver Broncos are currently accepting applications for... yup Head Coach!

Mike Shanahan will surely be missed. He has defined our city for 14 seasons with and without John Elway. Does anyone remember the frustration under Dan Reeves? Run, Run, Pass. Boooooring! Wade Philips? Nevermind him, Dallas didn't make the playoffs either.

Before I begin I want to apologize to my 3 readers for not keeping up with the Fallout Report. I'll have it on time (every Tuesday) from now until the playoffs. With that said, let's see how I did!

The Syracuse Orange finished yet another season of failure on Saturday, losing to BCS Busting Cincinnat 30-10 and sealing the 4th consecutive losing year for Syracuse. The team finished 3-9 and the best record under Greg Robinson was a 4-8 campaign in 2006. With the past 4 years finally finished, Greg Robinson fired, and the program in desparation mode, a new head coach is on the horizon. “I have made the decision to move our football program in a new direction and have informed Greg Robinson that his tenure as Syracuse’s head coach will end at the conclusion of this season" SU athletic director Daryl Gross said. That new direction could have been much of the same, as there was initial interest in former Raider head coach and ex-USC assistant Lane Kiffin. Gross worked with Kiffin at Southern Cal and rumors speculted there was a reunion possibly in the works. Now that Kiffin is the new coach at Tennesse that rumor can be put to rest. As for SU? Their search will continue and look for the school to take its time.

Another 3-1 weekend. Not bad, the goal is to be 4-0. Going perfect is hard ask Tha Titans or better the Patriots. Lets take a look see and then The Monday Night Madness Pick.

The Denver Broncos decided they really do not want the division. They are going their best not to win it. They let The Oakland Raiders look like playoff contender. Now, they had several chances but penalties hurt them alot. There was a play to Brandon Marshall in 2nd quarter was called back for receiver doing a pic, Making third and long instead of first they had to punt. Then in 4th Quarter when game was still a little close they went for 4th and 10. Brandon Marshall has a catch for 15 yards. Offsetting penalties they have to do it again and this time Cutler over threw. I know the Broncos are banged up but man they need some Def help.

Is this game against Miami a must win?

Personally I hate that phrase because it suggests that if a team loses the game, there's no hope for the rest of the season. I don't think that's the case for the Pats. They stand at 6-4 and while one loss hurts their chances of reaching the playoffs, it doesn't completely kills their chances of advancing to the second season.

When you consider that he wasn't drafted by any team in the NFL, it is safe to say you probably won't be drafting him or picking him up for your fantasy football team, either.

He had just 10 carries in the game against Atlanta on Sunday, but they always seem to be important ones, the kind of carries that remind us what it means to play football.

Everyone knows that little kids are dumb.  They will pull a pot of boiling water down on themselves, or put small objects in their mouths, or grab sharp objects by the wrong end.  Parents in the animal kingdom may have to expend all of their energy protecting their young from outside predators, but human parents know that most of the time, the biggest danger to a child is himself.  Protecting a baby from himself is a tiring job for sure, but if the baby survives to adulthood with minimal injuries, it can be quite rewarding.

As the NFL reaches solidly into the second half of the season, fantasy owners are positioning themselves for the playoffs. With big games this week, including the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Redskins and the New England Patriots vs. the New York Jets, team and player match-ups should have an impact your selections. Mid-season trades and quality free agent pick-ups could be the boost that your team needs to climb to the top of the mountain.

Once again, we blew a lead, and this time we lost to the Broncos 34-30.

The Positives: Brady Quinn looked good, and right now it looks like we have a QB. I was impressed with his play. For those of you who didn't watch the game, it wasn't BQ's fault for the loss. K2 made some crucial errors in the second half after having an amazing first half. Anyway, BQ spread the ball around, committed no turnovers, and avoided pressure to make plays. Another positive is that our offense put up some points, all three RBs were productive in some way, shape, or form, and Josh Cribbs gave us nice field position with just about every return. Even with Steinback and Tucker out, our "O" line opened some holes and did a good job pass blocking.

Mike Shanahan is quoted as saying that Ryan Torain is the most talented running back

he has ever seen.  So he is saying more talented then the like of Terrell Davis, Clinton Portis,  Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Rueben Droughns and Tatum bell.  After that last sentence you might be thinking that I am crazy.  Don’t worry I was Trying to make a point.  Lets start with Terrell Davis a great NFL running back but was a sixth round pick by the broncos and ran a 4.6 forty at the combine.  So I am sure that Davis did not look that impressive.  Then there is Clinton Portis a first round pick that is fast, elusive and has every skill that you want a back to have.  But I do not think that shanahan ever liked him as he was traded awa y to Washington for Champ Bailey.  As for the other Denver running backs they were all just a bunch of no name players.  So let’s say it should not take much for Mike Shanahan to say that he is the most talented running back he has ever seen.  Besides Torain needs to show what he can do on the field when there are officials and eleven guys trying to knock the snot out of him.  Not in limited contact drills.

Last night Brigham Young University, my alma mater, suffered a devastating defeat on the football field.  This season, the slogan for the Cougars has been, “The Quest,” meaning the quest for perfection.  We ended last season ranked seventeenth in the nation, and went on to narrowly beat UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl with a blocked field goal as time expired.  The season’s stars, Max Hall and Harvey Unga, were only in their second and first seasons, respectively, so we had high hopes for 2008.  We rolled out to a 6-0 start and we were climbing the rankings.  Just yesterday I read an article on ESPN.com that said that the Cougars might have a shot at the National Championship Game (this is ESPN.com, okay? “According to Broncos coach Mike Shanahan who admitted Wednesday that the high altitude is a big reason why the Broncos own the best home record in the NFL over the last 30 years. “We’ve got the best record I think at home over the last 30 years and I don’t think it’s because we’ve been the best football team. I do think there’s an advantage from an altitude standpoint. Players that have played here over the years feel that way as well.” ‘• OLB Joey Porter, who went to school at Colorado, is concerned about the altitude. “The altitude is really big. I’ve trained there a lot. I’ll go back to California for a week and come back and it feels like it’s ripping a hole in your chest. It’s definitely going to take some extra conditioning to where you go up in this thin air, you’re going to feel the difference.” Yahoo! Sports

On the first play of Denver's Monday Night game against New England, Jay Cutler injured his finger on Vince Wilfork's helmet. This must have messed with Coach Mike Shanahan's usual pre-planned 15-play commencement to every game. Seeing the immediate innaccuracy of Cutler's throwing after the bang-up, more run plays started to get dialed. Since Selvin Young was out of the game, it was 33-year-old back-up Michael Pittman's job to carry the load. Soon thereafter, during the same long drive downfield, Pittman was injured and taken out of the game. Thus third-stringer Andre Hall had to carry the ball. And on his first touch, he fumbled it. The drive was simply doomed from the beginning.

The person who first said, "Love to play with him, hate to play against him," must had been talking about Rodney Harrison.

There is not another player in the NFL who is a better example of that saying. Find a teammate from his nine years with the San Diego Chargers and they completely appreciate Rodney's play to the whistle intensity, often-times beyond. They recognized the difference he made as an enforcer in the secondary. He was respected for giving it his all every play.

I don't know whether it's Jacksonville's disappointing start or the thick of a school year underway, but it's been a while since I've written.

After a brutal six-game stretch that included the Colts, Broncos, Titans, Steelers, and a first-place Bills team, the Jaguars actually sit in decent shape with their next three games consisting of 2-4 Cleveland, 0-7 Cincinnati, and 0-6 Detroit (not a bad time for a bye week and the soft part of the schedule, eh?) before hosting a rematch with Division leader, the Tennessee Titans, which already sounds like the type of game that could change a season if everything goes well.

Naw seriously....Mr. Cutler has nothing on me. So what, I know what you are going to say, he is an NFL quarterback with a million dollars and living the life. AND....your point is? So what he is rich? I can do that to if I had the opportunity to throw a football to wideouts and score touchdowns and become a better legend then John Elway. What you guys think? Do you think it is possible? I am young, and I do have a face of star quarterback. A new found rivalry with this expansion team(well, they always will be to me) the Jacksonville Jaguars have always put up a good fight. Very Excited for this game.

Within the first 5 drives between both teams we've seen a touchdown pass, two fumbles, and a field goal. I love this stuff! Now if only one of those fumbles hadn't been ours. Our offense and defense started out with a bang. Cutler and the O driving for 80 yards. Only to be dulled in comparison to Webster's DEVESTATING blow to Taylor making him cough up the ball. BUT, yes, with the orange and blue there is ALWAYS a but, Cutler as we have all noticed this season, has grown his required set of extremities necessary for all NFL quarteback. Balls. But with these balls come responsibility Jay. Yes, you did make one succesful sprint. But trying to do this all the time will come back to bite you in those previously mentioned balls. Like today. You just fumbled man!!! Now we're only ahead by 4! AHH!!!! You just through and interception too!! Sounds like someone's trying to step on their OWN balls. Ouch! Alright, end of the 1st quarter. I love how the so-called experts are still claiming that the San Diego Chargers are still the team to beat in the AFC West.  Last time I checked the Broncos beat them didn't they? They are only two games back with a lot of football left to play, but look at the teams they are losing to: Miami (even though they are a better team then last year), AFC West leading Broncos, and they let the Panthers when on a last second FG.  They only beat Oakland by 10.  Denver Beat Oakland by 27 in Oakland.  Face it LT is not as good as he once was and the Chargers are not going to win the AFC West.

So after 5 weeks and a few good opponents, the Broncos are looking solid. This past Sunday when they showed the Buccaneers that there defense is getting better in all areas, especially getting after the passer. If you didn't see the game I'm sure you saw Champ Baileys hit on Brian Griese on Sports Center that took him out of the game. Before that though, Denver was putting constant pressure on the quarterback while still maintaining down field integrity. People have said a lot about Denver's D-Line and how it is struggling, what I tell them is that we have a lot of young talent on that line in LE Tim Crowder, DT Marcus Thomas, RE Elvis Dumervil, & RE Jarvis Moss. As these talented Defensive Linemen continue to progress, the Broncos D-Line will be very strong and very talented.

So I normally title my Monday blog: Monday Mourning due to being hungover from a full day of drinking and watching sports, hence the “mourning” because I have to get up, go to work, puke in the bathroom, and subsequently fall asleep in all of my meetings and get absolutely no work done. But today is different, mainly due to the fact that CBS’s and Fox’s regional coverage of NFL games in my area was HORRIBLE. Games that had a spread of +11 with no fantasy implications at all were being aired, so I went and watched polo (you know, the sport where guys on horses trot around and whack a ball with mallets). I had never been to a polo game before but we decided to go due to the possibility of attractive females (there are always beautiful women at horse events). We mingled with a few and made up some elaborate lies that we were just checking out the competition and had our horses stabled a few miles away. We were obviously out of place, with our cheers of “nice pass man!” and “shoooooot it!” but we wholeheartedly plan on attending it every Sunday for the rest of the season – pending what NFL games are on of course.

Some teams like Detroit, St. Louis, probably the Raiders and the Texans are headed for losing seasons. Sure they might make things interesting in certain weeks. The Raiders and the Texans still have a way of being entertaining as they find ways to end up on the short end of the score. But it looks like the state of Ohio is going to be under football purgatory this year. But other teams like the

Hello sportsfans!! This is my first of many articles for this site. I just want to let everyone know that I will be blogging on all Pro sports teams. I will be posting on http://www.denvernuggetsnews.com .  http://www.denverbroncosnews.com/ , http://www.coloradorockiesnews.com/ , http://www.coloradoavalanchenews.com/ , and occasionally on http://www.ncaafootballfansite.com/ . I'm hoping to slowly start a routine in my home to where I'll be able to watch every game for all of our teams. And the idea is that I'll be blogging while I'm watching the game. I'm going to try and post at the end of every quarter/period/inning. But it might turn into a end-of-every-game basis. We'll work it out together And yes I am a firm believer that these teams colorado, are our teams. And I'm so excited to share them with you all. Excited to hear from the readers and GO BRONCOS/NUGGETS/AVS/ROCKS!!!
