Thank You, Rod Smith posted on 07/28/2008
They don't make 'em like Rod anymore, do they? A WR who keeps his mouth shut, blocks downfield, catches passes over the middle and just flat out plays football. Rod would have been at home playing in any NFL era. I could see the guy catching passes from anyone from Aaron Rodgers to Y.A. Tittle. But I couldn't be happier that this undrafted player from a D-II school ended up a Bronco for life.
Rod Smith belongs in the Hall of Fame because of his character. His stats and and rings will get him on the ballot. But his character should put him in.
I still remember Rod's first catch as a Bronco. It was a 43 yard TD grab to beat the Redskins back in 1995. He was single covered and ran a long post route. He made a good catch and the TD beat the 'Skins and time expired. What a way to set the tone for the rest of his career.

Brett Favre Un-Retires posted on 07/11/2008
Yes! Favre has returned to save my fantasy football team! I knew drafting him in my 12 Team Keeper league would pay off. I am a fantasy football genius!
Not really. I had a horrible season last year. But enough about that . . .
So Favre wants to keep playing? And the Pack want to rebuild? Release Favre! What's the big deal? It's win-win. Sure the Green Bay faithful might be a little upset. But they'll get over it. What else is there to do on Sunday's in Green Bay? The Pack will find out what they have in Aaron Rodgers and Favre can find out what he has left in the tank.
I hope Favre ends up with the Bears. That would be awesome! Favre would see his old team twice and get another gig in Lambeau. Would Lambeau boo him? Would Favre take the Bears to the next level? So many story lines, so many. The Vikings would almost be as cool. But since I like the Bears I'd rather see him end up in Chicago. Doubtful, but still fun to think about.

Hello and Welcome to All Things Football posted on 07/07/2008
Yup, just like the title says this is "All Things Football." My name is Dave and I will be your host and guest. I won't be the cheerleader nor will I be the over-excited goofball who rushes the stage to kiss the host on the cheek. We will re-broadcast without expressed written consent. Sometimes we might ask for implied verbal consent though. If you have any questions, comments or concerns do not hesitate to express yourself in the correct manner. Batteries not included. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
Now that the legal stuff is out of the way . . .
Football. God, what a great sport! It has it all: skill, strength, speed, strategy, teamwork, cunning (some may say cheating, and that's ok! If you're not cheating, you're not trying). Big men running behind even bigger men trying to stay away from eleven angry men who want to rip someone's head off. Ahh, yes, the savage ballet.
